GENERAL INFORMATION

Place and date
The 2001 IEEE International Symposium  on  Information Theory (ISIT2001) will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, D.C., from June 24 through June 29, 2001.

Plenary talks 

The 2001 Shannon Lecture will be given by:
       Prof.  Jack K. Wolf
       University of California at San Diego

In addition, there will four plenary lectures at the 2001 ISIT.  These lectures will be delivered by:

       Prof. Frederick Jelinek
       Johns Hopkins University

       Prof. Robert McEliece
       California Institute of Technology

       Prof. Michael Rabin
       Harvard University

       Prof. Benjamin Weiss
       Hebrew University

Technical Program
As usual, the technical program will cover interesting and important recent advances across all subfields of Information Theory. For ISIT2001, all technical talks will be  limited to 20 minutes. On Friday, there will be a farewell reception in the afternoon, 1:00 - 2:30. 

Language
The official conference language is English. All presentations will be in English, and no translation service will be available.
