Welcome
from the Director
Our program was initiated in responce to industry and government needs. It started with a proposal for a Systems Engineering M.S. Degree Program prepared by an ad hoc Systems Engineering Advisory Council with representatives from twenty-five industry and government organizations as well as students. The SMU SEP continues to evolve with active participation & guidance by represenatives from industry & government organizations in the SEP Develpment Team and Advisory Council. On-going development of the SMU SEP utilizes the SEP-Industry-Government-Student patnership to ensure continual focus on customer needs. The Systems Engineering Program website is intended to (1) provide sufficient information for prospective students to decide if the SMU SEP is the program for them, and if so, application instructions are provided, (2) provide information & resources for current students to plan their program of study and to schedule their courses, and (3) facilitate communication with & among students & alumni relative to news and SEP development. My objective is to provide the educational opportunities in a systems engineering so that you may obtain the knowledge, skills & tools to prepare you to become a systems engineer or technical manager, or just to become a better engineer. Feel free to contact me if you need more information about the SMU Systems Engineering Program. Jerrell T. Stracener |
