I like Timeserts instead of Helicoils because the Timesert is a solid barrel, double-threaded and shouldered. They fit nicely into a custom-cut hole which is made with tools included in the kit. The result is much stronger than the original aluminum threads, and it never unscrews or gets twisted up like Helicoils sometimes do.
