On October 17, 2008, the SMU community celebrated the naming of the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering and the unveiling of its new strategic plan. The Lyle School will build on its 83-year history of preparing graduates for success in areas such as technology, industry and public service. As the University enters its second century, the Lyle School will educate engineers to be leaders and creative thinkers, prepared to take on the most profound challenges confronting society and our planet.
