  1. Assume that the linear variable differential transformer can be modeled as shown.

  2. Design an instrument that measures both velocity and acceleration. Sketch a block diagram of your design, then indicate how your design can be built using electrical devices such as capacitors, inductors, voltage sources, or OP amps.

  3. Describe three types of temperature transducers. Use sketches, formulas, and a short paragraph to describe the operation of each.

  4. (a) Describe the signal averaging concept using sketches and formulas. (b) Give a brief description of all of the measurements we discussed which make use of signal averaging.
