James G. Dunham received the B.S. (with Distinction), M.S., and
Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in
1973, 1973 and 1978, respectively. He is an Associate Professor of Electrical
and Computer Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of
Texas since 1993. He was the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate and
Graduate Studies from 1990 through 1996 and the Assistant Dean for
Computer Operations from 1990 though 1997. He was the Associate Dean
for Academic Affairs from 2003 through 2004. He was the Lyle
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Research and Infrastructure from
2004 through 2012. He is a member of IEEE, ASEE, Sigma Xi, Phi Beta
Kappa, Tau Beta Phi, Eta Kappa Nu and Upsilon Pi Epsilon. Dr. Dunham's
research interests include cryptography and data security; information theory;
theory and practice of source and channel coding; and communications and telecommunications theory.
