Abstract
The cellular wireless industry is in a state of rapid flux. New handset applications such as camera, 3D
games, video, and internet capability; new air interfaces such as EDGE,
UMTS and HSDPA; and new connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth, WiFi and digital TV are all converging to create a complex
mix of technology and market forces. In
this talk, we will take a look at the trends and assess what it means to
electronics and communications technology.
Speaker Bio
Bill Krenik received a BEE degree
from the University of Minnesota
in 1984, an MSEE degree from Southern Methodist University in 1987, and a Ph.D.
in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Texas at Dallas
in 1993. Since 1984, he has been with
Texas Instruments in Dallas in a
variety of management and technical roles.
He is presently the Wireless Advanced Architectures Manager with
responsibility for development of advanced wireless technology. Bill holds 29 U.S.
patents with several more pending, he has published numerous technical papers
and speaks regularly and industry and technical conferences. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and is a
registered professional engineer in Texas.
