  • Textbooks: (both good books; not required for course but strongly recommended to get either one)
    1. Digital Communications, John G. Proakis, Fourth Edition, McGraw-Hill
    2. Principles of Digital Communications, Robert G. Gallager, Cambridge
  • We will also use material from the following book: Wireless Communications, Ted Rappaport, This book is not needed for the course but is useful for personal reference.
  • Supplemental reading material from magazines, journals and conferences will be distributed in class.

  • Office hours: TBD
  • There will be lot of questions on the home work that will require the use of MATLAB.  The project will also likely use MATLAB extensively..

Grading

  • Course Project (30%).
  • Home works (20%)
  • Midterm Exam (20%)
  • Final Exam (30%)
    Both exams will be held in class and be open book and open notes.
