Announcements:

Course grades for on campus students have been posted in access.smu as of Friday, 12/10/2010. But it may take a couple of hours up to overnight to have them appear to students.
Grades for distance students will be posted by Friday 12/17/2010.
Final exam: 12/8/10 for campus students and by 12/14/10 for distance students.
Distance students are welcome to take the final with the campus class. But please let me know via e-mail if you wish to do so.
Project reports are graded using a letter grade entered into the comment field of "project: part 3 - report" field in blackboard. A "1" in blackboard grade for that simply indicate that your project grade is available now.
Project proposals were graded using a binary grading scale:
1= acceptable, proceed with your project but also address issues I raised in my feedback.
0= unacceptable. You need to revise your proposal according to my feedback, and e-mail me with your proposed changes (preferrable as part of the e-mail itself, no need to submit a completely revised proposal)
For easy identification of course work to be submitted, please use the file names like:
HW#_firstname_lastname.doc ==> HW1_John_Smith.doc (example)
Please use the same convention for your project proposals and reports, by substituting "HW#" above with "ProjProposal" or "ProjReport".
Also, try to compile your work into one single file instead of submitting multiple files.
Your homework grader, Juan Claudio Serviere Morales, will be grading your homework assignment, while I will grade the rest (project related material and exams).
The due dates posted in your blackboard are for on-campus students, with the understanding that the corresponding due dates for distance students being 2 days later.

Please submit your hw#1 to your grader via e-mail AND upload to blackboard (please use the "common" section, CSE-7314-701C-1107, created on Monday 9/6/2010).
Course project: Proposal due 9/29/2010; Summary due 11/10/2010 (new due date 11/17/2010); Report due 11/17/2010.

Electronic submission of homework/project-related material are accepted in the following forms:
- Plain text files.
- Microsoft Word documents.
- Postscript or PDF files.
- HTML or other web-based documents.
Be sure to include your name, preferably on every page.
These submissions will not be individually acknowledged. But you can check with me (for projects) or your grader (for homeworks) if you suspect delivery problems.
